Synaplex: Choices, Connections, Community
Imagine doubling, tripling, or even quadrupling the number of people
coming to your synagogue on Shabbat — even when no one is celebrating a
Bar or Bat Mitzvah.
Imagine non-members calling the synagogue asking when you are hosting your next Synaplex Shabbat. Imagine having a new generation actively engaged in the synagogue.
What once was hopeful thinking is now reality in synagogues across the
United States and Canada. Synaplex. Unconventional, sometimes.
Inspiring, always.
Synaplex is a community-building initiative designed to provide people
with new reasons to make the synagogue the place to be on Shabbat.
Synaplex enables people to celebrate Shabbat the way they want to;
increasing participation on Shabbat thus offering synagogues a renewed
sense of purpose, pride and vibrancy.
Synaplex provides synagogues with a network, resources,
training and support to begin expanding their view of what an expanded
celebration of Shabbat can be in their community.
Synaplex is an initiative of STAR (Synagogues: Transformation and Renewal) and is a philanthropic partnership of the Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Foundation, The Steinhardt Foundation for Jewish Life and The Samuel Bronfman Foundation with the goal of enriching American Jewish life in the 21st Century.
